Xena & Gabrielle's Comments on Episode 104

Plot: Ted is in a coma and Melanie breaks the news to Brian that Ted named him executor of his living will. Brian doesn't want that responsibility until Lindsay explains why it has to be him.

Xena's Comments: This is the first episode where you see Melanie in action has a lawyer. That was nice. The problem I had with this one was the way way Lindsay babies Brian so much. This early in the show, I just found it annoying. I began to understand it later on though. Again, Mel gets mad a number of times and is just oh so cute. I loved the performances of both actresses in this episode. It was so early on in the season, but they really showed they had an understanding of the characters.

Gabrielle's Comments: Our lawyer extraordinaire, Melanie Marcus, is called into action to when Ted falls into a coma after sharing drugs on a nasty encounter with a tweeked out date. Ted and Melanie have a great relationship, they trade professional services (accounting and law) as well as serve are each other’s bridge of understanding between lesbians and gays. Melanie has to deliver the news that Ted chose Brian as executor of his will because he is the only person who is a big enough jerk to actually be willing to pull the plug. In this episode we get more exposure to Lindsay’s annoying habit of coddling Brian.
