Xena & Gabrielle's Comments on Episode 103

Plot: Brian interrupts Gus' bris, which throws Melanie over the edge. Emmett is dating a guy who doesn't speak any English. Melanie is the only one who can translate for him, which does supply some comic relief in this episode.

Xena's Comments: I really enjoyed this episode more than the pilot. Melanie's character comes across a bit too tough at first, but you learn much more about her feelings involving Gus. Plus Michelle Clunie is so darn cute when she's mad . Lindsay's character drove me crazy in this one though. I felt she spent way too much time trying to understand where Brian is coming from and not being supportive enough of Melanie.

Gabrielle's Comments: This is the episode where we learn Melanie does “Not care what men think about their dicks!!” Talk about a bris gone bad! This episode is the beginning of a long season in which all Lindsay does is carry baby Gus around. Melanie’s temper flashes when she comes face to face with the realization that she, Lindsay and Brian are truly forever entwined because of their respective relationships with Gus. I guess I was a bit clueless as to why Lindsay is SSOOOOO overly understanding of Brian. Come on Linz, cut Mel a little slack!
