Xena & Gabrielle's Comments on Episode 113

Plot: During a baby shower for another lesbian couple, Melanie meets a woman who she is obviously attracted to. After a fight with Lindsay, Melanie meets up with this woman for drinks. Melanie ends up sleeping with her. She comes home feeling guilty. They all meet up at the hospital for the birth of their friends baby, where Melanie confesses the affair to Lindsay. Melanie then moves out.

Xena's Comments: Okay, I know that I will not be popular after saying this, but I loved this episode. It was hot! Michelle Clunie & Thea Gill really showed some wonderful acting in this one. They said a lot with body language. After watching the previous 12 episodes and not being really impressed, this was a nice change and really helped me get into the show. I thought the story line and the way they dealt with it was great. I especially liked how Melanie comes home and while she is walking up the stairs to the bedroom she shares with Lindsay, she is remembering what happen with the other woman. I know it was wrong of Melanie to cheat on Lindsay, but at the time this aired (March of 2001), it didn't seem as bad as it would now. Melanie looks so hot in so many scenes, that it was hard for me not to get drawn into this episode. I especially love the ending of this episode. When Melanie & Lindsay are standing in the hallway, well, the acting that both of these actresses did in that scene was wonderful. Thea Gill & Michelle Clunie deserved a lot of credit for how well they handled this one. Based on the way I felt about this episode, I guess it is no surprise that I ended up with 102 images from this episode and created a music video to the song "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing".

Gabrielle's Comments: Michelle Clunie proves in this episode why she is the breakout performer of Season 1. Give this woman material and she can carry an entire episode. WRITERS OF QAF PLEASE RECOGNIZE THE TALENT OF YOUR FEMALE ACTRESSES!! Love it or hate it, this is the episode we ALL have to experience. This is where the arc of problems between Lindz and Mel hit their crescendo. I was shocked to learn that Mel and Lindz even know other lesbians. The biggest complaint that I have is for all the hot sex between the men in this series, the hottest sex scene between women is not between Melanie and Lindsay. What is up with that?
