Episode 11
Xena & Gabrielle's Comments on Episode 111

Plot: Michael's 30's birthday is right around the corner and stress is building between Melanie & Lindsay. While at Michael's party, Melanie has too much to drink and Lindsay shows her disappointment. One of Michael's coworkers finds out he is gay after Brian invites her to the party. Everyone leaves the party, letting Brian know just how stupid he was. Ted and Emmett get an AIDS test and Emmett believes he is positive so he makes a deal with God that if he is negative, he will never sleep with a man again.

Xena's Comments: I felt like the stress between Melanie & Lindsay was pushed in this episode. It sort of came out of nowhere. Almost like there was an episode between 110 and this one that covered something else going on with them. I just didn't really understand why it was there. Melanie does seem to be having trouble finding her place in the relationship. I thought both actresses did a great job in this episode though. It was an interesting story line. Melanie throwing up while Emmett is praying to God was really funny.

Gabrielle's Comments: Viewers will notice that Melanie has begun to drink to deal with the stress she is facing due to her lack of parental rights, tight finances, and Lindsay's emotional distance. Brian throws a 30th birthday party for Michael that ends up being a complete mess all the way around. Michelle is excellent in a scene where Mel and Ted are searching for a gift for Michael. For some reason, our ladies still do not have a babysitter as Lindsay sits and breastfeeds Gus at a party with about 100 gay men who are drinking, doing drugs, and having sex. Melanie is starting to crack from the pressure she is under from feeling emotionally distanced from Lindsay and goes Margarita crazy. Lindsay again comes across as a cold prude who is totally out of touch with the pain her partner is going through. Don't miss when Melanie ends up interrupting a moment between Emmitt and God. The arc is starting to look bad for our ladies...
