Thank you ER for quietly and tastefully showing almost 29 million households a week a realistic picture of what it is like to come out as a lesbian. Laura Innes is a talented actress and director who has captured the imagination of ER fans everywhere over the years with her portrayal of the mysterious Dr. Kerry Weaver. In 2000 - 2001 season of ER (season 7), Dr. Weaver began exploring her past and her sexuality. We have learned that Dr. Weaver's heart is not cold and it is not exactly ice water flowing through her veins. While some may think the portrayal of Dr. Weaver coming out has been boring, that has been the beauty of it. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would see a professional older woman on the number one network television show ordering a vodka neat in a lesbian bar. My only hope is that Dr. Weaver finds love. Maybe the new firewoman in her life, Sandy, will be just that woman. All I know is that I will be watching NBC every Thursday night at 10pm to find out :)

ER reruns airs on TNT at 9:am and 10:am Monday thru Friday. They are currently airing the episodes when Kerry first comes out.
