Here is a list of websites and/or phone numbers of various companies, organizations, etc. which we feel could be helpful to lesbians living or working in the Washington DC Metro Area. This list is not complete at all. We will be adding much more as we learn about other organizations. If you know of one not listed here, please let us know.

  • FishSisters"FishySisters is an email list group dedicated to those interested in broadening their social circle and meeting other lesbians in the MD/DC/VA and surrounding areas. The list also serves as an information exchange network for events and issues that might be of interest to local lesbians. We also welcome as members lesbians who join prior to moving to the DC/Balto metro areas to learn about our community. The majority of our 240 members live in the tri-state area, but we also have a few members in other nearby states. We have loosely-affiliated lists in the Tidewater area of Virginia, North Carolina and Delaware, as well. While we are a social group, we are not a dating service, nor do we have a political agenda. We do not look kindly on trolling for dates or sex. Political discussions are welcome, but are expected to be conducted with maturity and civility. We hold semi-regular social events ranging from organized group outings such as movie nights or dinners in local restaurants, to picnics in area parks and parties hosted by our members. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fishysisterscentral"
