Here is a list of websites and/or phone numbers of various companies, organizations, etc. which we feel could be helpful to lesbians living or working in the Washington DC Metro Area. This list is not complete at all. We will be adding much more as we learn about other organizations. If you know of one not listed here, please let us know.

  • DC Lambda Squares - 202-332-4782 A square dance club primarily (but not exclusively) for gay men and lesbians of all ages in the Washington Metro area.

  • GLITCH - Gay & Lesbian Information Technologists of Washington DC is a non-for-profit professional, social, and philanthropic organization for GLBT information technology professionals and members of the GLBT community interested in extending their knowledge in the various fields of information technology.

  • GLSEN - The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

  • Kryss.com - One of the best webhosting services out there. Low setup and monthly cost, lots of storage, bandwidth and extras. They also will help you register your domain name. They are who we host this site with.

  • Lambda Sci-Fi DC Area Gaylaxians - A science-fiction, fantasy, and horror club for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transsexuals and their friends in the Washington DC area.

  • Lavenderx - This web site helps job seekers find employment with gay and gay-friendly employers. You can search jobs, post jobs, go through a recruiter directory, look at GLBT resources and read through their gay/gay-friendly business directory. The site allows you to search for jobs in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

  • Lesbian Click - A directory of lesbian related sites on the net.

  • Mountain Meadow - A sleep over camp for children with lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender parents as well as other nontraditional and progressive families. Mountain Meadow welcomes all children who want to attend, regardless of their family’s economic background. The camp is located in the Philadelphia, PA area so it is not far from the DC Metro area.

  • Pride of PETS - A nonprofit organization assisting people with HIV/AIDS to care for their pets. They also hold dog shows and other events.

  • The Rainbow History Project - Their mission is to collect, preserve, and promote an active knowledge of the history, arts, and culture relevant to sexually diverse communities in metropolitan Washington DC.

  • Rainbow Wedding Network.com - Offers immediate access to gay-friendly wedding services, including an online registry, specifically designed for gay, lesbian, bi, trans & gay-friendly couples. This web site also offers links, tips, and shared stories for same sex ceremonies.

  • Vincent Di Angelo - Based out of Baltimore, Md. (Vince/Denise Cherubini: Artist, Writer, Designer & Photographer) is also a Drag King Gender Bending Performance Artist performing since 1991. From New York City, Washington D.C., Connecticut, New Jersey, San Francisco, Los Angelos, Ohio and Pittsburg to Baltimore City! Promo packets sent on request.

  • Woman Loving Women History Project - Beverly has put together a great compilation of lesbians in herstory. This is an educational site with a lot of good information. It is definitely worth a visit.
