Bunctius Introduction

First of all, Bunctius was a horse. Her full name was Double Bunctious, and I worked with her on the racetrack when I younger and dumber. My ISP only allowed me 8 letters, so I started telling people it was like rambunctious without the “ram” and without the “o.” Somehow, the association with rambunctiousness was easy for people to remember. I’m not sure what this says about me, but at least one of my ex’s would say it has to do with falling out of the bed more than once…

In any event, I grew up in suburban Maryland, came out as part of a large circle of lesbian friends in college in New Hampshire, most of whom were basketball players. (I was not - sorry Mystic4ever, but I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a basketball.) Moved to NYC, spent most of my free time at Henrietta Hudson’s, came home (to the state, not the parents, thank god) with the intention of becoming a lawyer, but withdrew after completing the first school of law school and became a high school teacher instead. Best decision I ever made. Now if the pay were just a little better…

So, for all of you out there who don’t feel like going out looking for the woman of your dreams every night, I’ll be trying to find literary escapes to help you pass the time, make you laugh, make you cry, make you think. Some books will be oldies but goodies, some gems that fell through marketing cracks, and some brand new. I’ll try to change reviews as often as I can. If there’s something you really want to hear about, drop me an e-mail and let me know. If you totally disagree with something I write, don’t hesitate to let me know that, too. Literature is wasted if people just agree about their thoughts on it.
